The Globe Trotters Social Club (GTSC) is an open forum, interactive group designed to foster community and connection through a shared experience of travel. Each meeting will be fully moderated and will open with a brief introduction by the instructor. Following the introduction, the session will be centered around student sharing and engagement. Each session will have an overarching framework to spur participation, and will focus on giving students maximum opportunities to share their experiences with each other. The ultimate goal of the sessions is to help build friendships and give students an opportunity to share the joys and the trials of traveling. Class structure: 1. Opening ~5 minutes: Introduce new students. Check ins: Where in the world are you? Icebreaker games. 2. ~10 Minutes: Student volunteer opportunity to share exciting recent adventures. 3. Final ~15 Minutes: Moderated Open Discussions amongst students. We encourage students to be as active and engaged as they can during sessions as this will help build friendships and community amongst participants. A student will never be forced to share during a session.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello!
I am a homeschool mom of two boys, and my family and I live and travel on our sailboat full time. I hold Bachelors and Masters degrees in Counseling Psychology and previously worked in a variety of clinical settings.
I am excited to create a social club for kids who travel part or full time and are looking to connect with other kids in a similar lifestyle. Being a traveling kid brings with it so many exciting adventures, and along the way the opportunity to meet many types of people. There are always times where those social connections may be hard to forge, and my hope is that this social club will provide an opportunity to create community from wherever you are. We will share our joys and our challenges as we trot the globe and hopefully form some lasting friendships!
Fun fact: my family recently adopted two kittens that we named Skipper & Spinnaker!
