Class Experience

In this one-time class, we will have a fun time socializing and playing games while drawing and coloring gingerbread houses. The learners will have the opportunity to get creative and add colors and designs to their gingerbread houses. The main goal of this class is to encourage learners to express themselves freely and be creative. Additionally, learners will have a chance to socialize and interact with the teacher and new friends while playing games and having open group discussions.

What games will we play and how will we choose them?

To choose the games, I have created a wheel with 15-20 games listed on it. During class, I will spin the wheel and whichever game it lands on will be the one we play at that moment. We will repeat this process several times throughout the class.

These are some examples of games that will be played: Would You Rather, I Spy, Christmas Scavenger Hunt, and 123 Santa.

I have a strict NO BULLYING rule. I think that it is crucial for learners to have a safe space free from bullying and judgment. I expect learners to respect each other and be kind to their classmates at all times. I will not tolerate bullying in any form. However, I will give students a chance to correct their behavior. Below is a list of steps that I will take when unkind behavior is witnessed or heard.
1. Warning, Ex: I will remind the student that in my class, we must be kind to each other at all times.
2. I will put the student in the waiting room or a breakout room and send a message or speak to them emphasizing the importance of being kind and warn that the next time that I have to speak to him/her/them, I will have to remove him/her/them. I will then, allow them to return to class and give a chance to change the behavior.
3. Removal from class ( there will be no refund or transfer to another class). A message will be sent to parents detailing the behavior witnessed or heard.

**** If you have any questions or concerns about any of my classes, please feel free to send a message to me.***

At Miss Brandy's Fun and Learning Academy we believe in providing a fun learning environment that encourages students, as well as makes them feel valued and respected while in the online classroom setting. Our philosophy includes acknowledging students with both rewards and words of praise when they exhibit positive behaviors and accomplish goals. At our academy we provide a fun, safe and nonjudgmental classroom environment because we believe that it is essential to both motivate and encourage students. Whether students are enrolled in a gaming class or academic class, our goal is to teach skills that they can use both in and out of the classroom. Our educators are dedicated to making every learner feel seen and heard in our classes.

Miss Brandy created Miss Brandy's Fun and Learning Academy to provide a safe place for kids to learn and play games. As a mom, she knows the importance of providing outlets for children that will allow them to interact with their peers and gain much needed social skills. Miss Brandy knew from early on that she wanted to pursue a career where she could teach and have fun doing it. With that in mind, she uses a teaching style that allows students to come to class confident that they can be themselves without judgment. She has been lucky to have taught students from across the world, with different learning abilities and different backgrounds who have had a meaningful impact on her teaching style. As an enthusiastic and devoted Educator, she strives to pass on her love for learning to her own students while encouraging them to be themselves, strive to be their best and embrace their differences.
