Class Experience

Are you looking for some extra enrichment or a little brain challenge? And have the opportunity to interact and socialize with friends just like you? If so, this class is just for you!

Join Ms. Heather each week as we delve into different puzzles, thinking tasks, and enrichment activities that we will work on together to challenge our minds.

This ongoing class's weekly activities will be designed to help gifted, high-level, 2E, and/or neurodivergent learners take their thinking to the next level through critical thinking, problem solving, creative thinking, puzzles, and games while also socializing and interacting with their peers. Activities may include a varied assortment of word or math analogies, logic puzzles, word ladders, math problem solving tasks, lateral thinking challenges, deductive reasoning activities, and/or riddles and brain teasers.

Weekly classes do not build upon each other, they are individual, holistic classes where students will encounter a variety of activities. Multiple weeks may have logic puzzles, but they will be different logic puzzles. As a result, students may attend each week, when they are available to, or just one time, but I hope they attend more than once. :)

Students won't need to bring anything to class except for a positive attitude and a willingness to participate.

Ms. Heather's Class Policies & Expectations:

All learners are expected to follow Ms. Heather’s class expectations in all sessions. These expectations are reviewed at the beginning of every class. Please be supportive of these expectations for the benefit of all learners by reinforcing these expectations with your individual learner.

•	Be Respectful and kind.
•	Listen to others’ ideas.
•	Stretch your thinking.
•	Take turns talking and sharing.
•	Always raise your hand and share the microphone.
•	Share the love.
•	Be yourself and have fun exercising your brain!

The goal is for each class to start on time. If a student comes in late to a group class, they will be welcomed into class, however the class will continue from the point they joined.
If your learner is late to a one-on-one session. Ms. Heather will try her best to continue to provide to full time scheduled, but that is not always guaranteed. If you know your learner will be late for a one-on-one session, please reach out to Ms. Heather so she can plan accordingly.

If you know your learner will be absent from a class, as long as you notify Ms. Heather in advance, your class fee will be refunded. However, if your learner is a no show, the class fee will not be refunded. Absent learners still have access to the class recordings.
If you know you will be gone for a few weeks for travel or another family situation, please let Ms. Heather know. She is happy to hold your learner’s spot in class and refund you each week’s fee until your learner returns.

If you pause your class and your learner’s spot is no longer available, please reach out to Ms. Heather and she will do what she can to open a spot for your learner. Please note, due to Ms. Heather’s desire to keep class sizes smaller to benefit all learners, opening a spot may not always be possible. In these cases, if you know for certain you will be returning, just let Ms. Heather know and she will work with you so do not risk losing your learner’s spot in class.

On occasion Ms. Heather may have to cancel a class due to family, work, or travel obligations. She will always do her best to notify learners in advance of the cancellation. You will never be charged for a class cancelled by Ms. Heather for any reason.

Life happens and on very rare occasions I will need to make a last-minute cancellation. If this happens, I apologize and will always refund your class fee.

At anytime you have a question or concern about your learner and/or class, please reach out to me. I’m always here for all my students and want them to have the very best experience possible.

Ms. Heather is a certified educator with 20 years teaching experience. I've taught both elementary and middle school, as well as been a gifted education teacher for over half of my teaching career. Gifted education is a special passion of mine so many of my classes are tailored towards gifted and/or high-level learners, however I'm happy to work with any student who is interested in learning and growing. My ultimate goal is to create classes and activities which encourage students to step up their thinking with a little bit of challenge, all while having fun in a safe, nurturing, and caring environment.
