Getting it Together - Executive Function for Tweens & Teens CAMP

Class
Heather DeGeorge, MAT, PMP
Average rating:4.5Number of reviews:(238)
Introducing students to Executive Function skills and how to help themselves in the areas they are struggling in most.

Class experience

Students gain a strong understanding of their weakest skills and gain knowledge and (through homework assignments) experience using new skills to support their weak areas.
I have taught executive function and productivity skills to my students and science team students for at least 10 years. These are an extension of project management, for which I have been certified at the highest level (PMP) since 2003 and have taught for the international certifying body (PMI). Since 2015, I have been coaching middle schoolers who are preparing for Science Olympiad competition with very little support--so these skills are critical and they have been wonderfully successful with my team!
Homework Offered
Students WILL have homework every class that will have to be posted to the classroom and shared with class. These are to reinforce the skills they are learning and allow them to work through scenarios using their own ideas to problem-solve.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
There will be handouts that need to be printed each class day including the initial skills inventory that will follow them through the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will have homework that will require parent involvement and input to help students find new ways to accommodate their weaknesses by using their strengths in the context of their own world. This homework is a way to help them build self-advocacy skills.

This course is also taught in a live, once/week format. For schedule and details, see link below:
