Students will recognize the importance of being able to start a conversation with a known or unknown person. We will talk through different strategies for talking with these different groups of people (known or unknown). The student will demonstrate, through role-playing, the difference between proper and improper methods. We will establish the need and gain buy-in, and then I will provide a variety of examples for us to work through. Students will then pair up with other learners and practice. The students will model the skills.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I have taught in public high school and private college classrooms for more than a decade, focusing mostly on English, diversity, and leadership coursework. I have served as a high school teacher in public schools, and I have worked in the private college sector, working up to an Associate Vice President and Dean of Students--I've loved every job I've had! I also have experience teaching middle school youth groups. Now I've started and run an award-winning antique store and flea market paired with an auction house. It's safe to say I have a variety of interests!
I love working with students in full-class, small groups, and in one-on-one environments.
