We will discuss expectations and concerns about starting middle school.  I teach through discussion, direct instruction (lecture), and interactive activities (opportunities to practice or apply ideas). Students will have the opportunity to share their feelings about starting middle school in a structured activity. We will reflect on the variety of feelings that may be present about beginning middle school. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions about middle school. There will be visual aids to accompany direct instruction about steps students can take to prepare for their first day of middle school. We will conclude with an opportunity for students to practice breaking the ice with their new classmates in school.
