Geometry - Introduction to the Circle - Area & Circumference (Ages 11-13)
In this course, students will be introduced to the formulae for the area and the perimeter (circumference) of the circle. They will learn to solve these equations to find the radius, diameter, circumference and the area.

In this introductory level class, students will be introduced to the formulae for the area and the circumference of the circle. They will learn to solve for the perimeter/circumference, area, diameter and the radius of a circle using these formulae. We will work on several sample problems as a class. Depending on student progress, students will also solve problems involving areas of shaded regions. I will be teaching using an online chalkboard/presentation. Worksheets with practice problems will be available in the classroom announcement section on the day before class. Students must print the worksheets before class. When in doubt, students are encouraged to ask questions. I will be assisting students while they work. NOTE: =>I may need to cancel this class if fewer three students are enrolled. =>I run another course for older students titled 'Geometry - Circle - Area, Circumference & Shaded Regions (Ages 14-18)'.

Materials to bring to class: -notebook -pencil & eraser -calculator Prerequisites: -ability to follow instruction and take notes -know how to rearrange and solve equations with one variable -understanding of square and square root
