Geography is one of my greatest passions! I can't wait to share with your child all the different people and places in our world. Each student will receive a "passport" when they join the class. As we travel to and learn about different countries, students can fill up their passports with "stamps." As we arrive to each new continent, students will be given a map of the continent and an additional handout with memorable features of the countries we visit. Day 1: Europe Day 2: Africa Day...
Students will need to print off (prior to class): -passports -maps -handouts/coloring sheets Students will also need "markers" for their maps. These can be: -dried beans -balls made from modeling clay -sequins -or whatever you have around the house **I also like to use chocolate chips (for mountain ranges) and candy fish or fish crackers (for waterways and oceans). All of these are completely optional, however it does make the games more fun for the kids. You may also want to consider laminating maps (or using a sheet protector) so your child can practice or play the games multiple times. An alterative option is to purchase shop ticket holders from the Dollar Tree to put the maps in. When choosing this option, students can use dry erase markers to identify/outline locations on the maps. These options allow students to use the maps multiple times.
