In this relaxed class, students will be able to gather over a snack or lunch to play games. I will bring several games, and will lead the group initially. However, I will invite the students to bring their own ideas, and to lead the group in playing. Although this is a one-time class, I plan to hold sessions frequently enough that students can return at their convenience, to continue to enjoy recreation, and/or to work on their leadership skills. This will be a social class, but with the structure of gameplay to assist in navigating online, friendly chat among peers. During these times, it’s important to find new and creative ways to ensure that kids are socializing safely, in developmentally appropriate ways. Games and Grub is open!

Hello! My name is Kathleen M, but everyone calls me Miss Kathleen. All of my classes are safe and inclusive places for all learners.
Teaching is my job, but it’s also my favorite thing ever! I have taught everything from dance, to sign language, to English as a second language, and my students range in age from toddlers to adults. My degrees are in early childhood education and performing arts, I have a TESOL certificate, and I am proud to say that I was chosen as Teacher of the Year while working as a pre-kindergarten teacher. Recently, I have enjoyed homeschooling my own kids, and volunteering as a sign language interpreter at our church.
I believe that teaching is about creating a rapport between student and teacher, and that by forming positive relationships we can pave the way for creative learning and achievement. Learning should always be fun, and any subject is rich with lessons that connect to life in many ways.
