Class Experience

Is your child a new violin or viola player? Has your child signed up for strings in school? This course is perfect for brand-new strings students and those with up to a year of playing experience.

Get started on your musical journey with a closer look at good posture, bow grip, and tone. In this session, we will practice strings techniques through fun games and exercises. Students will cheer each other on in a lighthearted and supportive environment. Students will experience demonstrations, feedback, and encouragement. We will interact with each other and the teacher by showing off our new skills. 

All your new songs will be easier and more fun to learn when you start with good FUNdamentals!

Learning Goals

Students will learn proper violin and viola posture and bow grip. Students will learn techniques and exercises for improving playing posture and tone on their instruments.

Other Details

Supply List
Students will need their own violin or viola and bow in working condition. 
Optional: Shoulder rest or sponge for their instrument.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
