Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have recently retired from teaching middle school science after 33 years. I have a Bachelors and a Masters in Education from Purdue University. I also have an Associates degree in Anthropology from Indiana University. I believe that science is a very important subject in which to master the foundational basics. With a solid foundation in basic science and the skills needed to understand it, students will be more confident in their abilities to be successful in their required high school science credits. Students may also realize that they may want to pursue more in the science topic of their interest. I am a renaissance science teacher. I like to find out what my students are interested in and show them the science connection to their interest. I also share my diverse interest with them. To list a few: I love the arts, (I sing, draw, paint, sew, knit, and generally love to create things). I read daily, enjoy writing, hike, and have a deep appreciation for nature. I have been a fitness instructor: aerobics, step-aerobics, water aerobics, Zumba, and Aquazumba. I am now a certified Yoga instructor and teach several yoga classes.
