We will begin class getting to know one another so the students feel comfortable with each other and the teacher. We will begin by discussing robots, why we like them and what we like about them. Each student will be provided with a printable of a robot that they will be able to color during this time. During this time, we will even explore the language of robots and talk about how different robots can help us. We will then move to creating our own robots! For this activity the students will be provided another printable prior to class that will allow them to create their own robot. These will need to be printed out before class. If the students are able, they are welcome to cut the pieces out themselves or a parents can have this part of the activity completed before class as well. The students will also need a toilet paper roll and glue for this part of the class. Students are welcome to color their robot pieces if they would like, and then use the pieces to create their own robot using the toilet paper roll as a body! After we have made our robots, students can feel free to show them to each other and use robot language to communicate with other robots in class until the end of class. We will then end class with brief goodbyes.
