US Grade Kindergarten - 2
๐ซThis is a one-time class that can be taken multiple times. Come once, or come often! This small group math class for children is designed to introduce young learners to the basics of early Mathematics in a fun and interactive way! During this class, I will use engaging digital flashcards to support foundational mathematics skills. Learning Goals: โ๏ธnumber recognition and counting (numbers 0-20) โ๏ธpractice counting aloud together (emphasizing one-to-one correspondence between numbers and objects) โ๏ธmatch numbers to quantities to reinforce number recognition skills โ๏ธpractice adding and subtracting (numbers 0-20) โ๏ธexplore quantity by comparing more and less โ๏ธIdentify basic geometric shapes like circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles โ๏ธexplore and identify patterns ๐Materials Needed: Writing materials (paper, crayons, markers, etc.) โ๏ธHomework will be provided to reinforce and practice skills after each lesson. ๐คฉMy small group math class for young learners aims to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can begin to develop a love for math while building essential communication skills that will serve as a foundation for their future learning journey.

Non-US Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I have been teaching for more than 25 years with the Toronto District School Board. My Ontario College of Teachers Certificate number is #286618. I attended Dalhousie University for my Bachelor of Music in Performance. I also have a Bachelor of Education from Brock University. I studied classical piano from the age of 5 with the Royal Conservatory of Music. While in University, I performed as a Mezzo-Soprano in the Dalhousie Chorale.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught K-12 Music, Kindergarten, Grade 1 and 2, Health and Physical Education. I have conducted choirs and musical ensembles for seasonal public performances throughout all of these years of teaching. I have always continued to advance my skills by taking additional qualifications courses and am very proud to be a Reading Specialist.
It is my passion and joy to make learning fun and engaging for all of my students!
