US Grade 2 - 4
During this course students will learn about different types of graphs, practice reading graphs and create their own graphs. Each week will focus on a different type of graph. The five main graphs covered will be pictographs, tally graphs, bar graphs, pie graphs and Venn diagrams. Week 1: Topic - Pictographs Week 2: Topic - Tally Graphs Week 3: Topic - Bar Graphs Week 4: Topic - Pie Graphs Week 5: Topic - Venn Diagrams Class Structure: Welcome & Expectations Do Now - Draw It Activity Graph Introduction Practice Reading Graphs Create Your Own Graph Exit Ticket - Fun Quiz Students will collaborate to create graph topics and share the graphs they create each week. These classes will include engaging visuals, fun, challenging questions and a chance to show their creativity through graph making. Printable pdf graph templates will be provided for each class session.
Learning Goals
Students will gain an understanding of five different types of graphs:
Pictograph, Tally Graph, Bar Graph, Pie Graph and Venn Diagram
Students will practice reading each type of graph and create their own graphs each week.
