What will be taught?
In this club, kids will dive into the basics of making friends and communicating in a fun way! We’ll cover essential social skills like expressing feelings, sharing, listening, and talking kindly to others. The aim is to help them build confidence in social situations and lay the groundwork for positive relationships.

What topics will you cover?
Each week will focus on a different social skill. Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ll explore:

Unit Breakdown
Unit 1: Making Connections
Weeks 1-4

Unit 2: Emotions and Expressions
Weeks 5-8

Unit 3: Communication Skills
Weeks 9-12

Unit 4: Teamwork and Collaboration
Weeks 13-16

How is your club structured?
We’ll meet for short sessions filled with engaging activities. Each club session kicks off with circle time, where everyone can share stories and experiences, followed by activities like role-playing, storytelling, and games that focus on the social skill of the day.

How will you teach?
My teaching style is super interactive and play-based because I believe kids learn best when they’re having fun! I’ll integrate hands-on activities, storytelling, and games to keep things lively and engaging. Each lesson is designed to be educational and enjoyable, helping kids build their skills naturally.

What’s your teaching style?
I create a friendly and inclusive vibe where every child feels comfortable expressing themselves and joining in. I focus on positive reinforcement and encourage kids to learn by doing rather than just sitting and listening. Every lesson will be structured to promote confidence, creativity, and kindness.

How much will learners interact with you?
Students will have plenty of chances to interact with both me and their classmates! Each club session will include:

Group discussions and sharing time
Interactive games to practice speaking and listening
Role-playing scenarios to reinforce what they learn
Individual support and feedback during activities
The goal is to create a fun, supportive environment where kids feel excited and comfortable practicing their conversation and friendship skills.

Welcome to my page! I’m a third-generation teacher who was homeschooled from kindergarten through 12th grade. Growing up surrounded by educators, I was inspired to pursue the same path. After earning my BA from NCSU in 2023, I became a registered instructor with the Institute for Excellence in Writing in 2024. Since then, I’ve been teaching both English Language Arts and Spanish. I’d love to help your children discover the magic of the IEW method and Spanish!
