Class Experience

Welcome to our exciting Summer Cooking Camp, where young chefs aged 8-12 will embark on a culinary adventure! This hands-on, interactive camp is designed to spark creativity, build confidence in the kitchen, and teach essential cooking skills. We'll explore a variety of delicious recipes and create a keepsake recipe book. Each session begins with a brief lecture and demonstration, followed by learners preparing the recipe themselves, with guidance and support. No prior cooking experience is required, just enthusiasm to learn and have fun in the kitchen!

Class Structure:
Introduction (5 min): We'll start each session with a warm welcome and a brief overview of the recipe we'll be making that day.
Cooking Demonstration (15 min): I'll guide the students through each step of the recipe, demonstrating techniques and explaining the importance of kitchen safety.
Cooking Time (5 min): Students will have time to prepare their own versions of the recipe with my guidance and support.
Recipe Book Creation (3 min): Learners will spend a few minutes each day adding the day's recipe to their personalized recipe book.
Sharing and Discussion (2 min): We'll wrap up each session by sharing our creations and discussing what we learned that day.

Class Description:
⇢ Session 1: Fruit Salad - Learn to make a colorful and refreshing fruit salad using a variety of fruits.
⇢ Session 2: English Muffin Pizzas - Create delicious mini pizzas with customizable toppings on English muffins.
⇢ Session 3: No-Bake Cookies - Prepare scrumptious no-bake cookies with oats, chocolate, and peanut butter.
⇢ Session 4: Pasta Salad - Whip up a tasty pasta salad with fresh vegetables and a zesty dressing.
⇢ Session 5: Smoothies - Blend up a nutritious and yummy fruit smoothie with your favorite ingredients.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Supervision is required during all sessions to ensure the safety of learners in the kitchen. Parents should be prepared to assist with tasks such as using knives and the stovetop. Use of the oven is not required for this class. Please refer to the Learner Supply List for a comprehensive list of materials and ingredients needed for participation in each session. Learners are required to obtain their own ingredients, but rest assured, all items are common and can be easily found at your local grocery store.
