Beginner Level
This ongoing class is designed for Beginners that had limited or no exposure to the Spanish language. Don't worry, I'll speak enough Spanish / English so kids don't feel overwhelmed. My goal is to help students build their vocabulary so little by little they will start putting words together and speaking in full sentences. During the first meeting, I introduce new vocabulary. During the second meeting we will play games and review the new vocabulary we learned. This way, student will demonstrate understanding and comprehension of the Spanish language. π Each week, we will cover different topics: Week 1: Greetings: What's your name & How are you? Week 2: How old are you? Counting 1-10 Week 3: My Family Week 4: Animal Families / Likes & Dislikes. Articles & Wh Question: CuΓ‘ntos....hay? Week 5: Colors Blue, Red, Green (objects with these colors). Likes & Dislikes Week 6: Colors Yellow, Orange, Brown (objects with these colors). Likes & Dislikes Week 7: Upper Body Parts / Verb: To have Week 8: Lower Body Parts and Verb: To have Week 9: Wild Animals and Wild Animal's Body Parts Week 10: Shapes / Drawing with Shapes Week 11: Fruits & Descriptions Week 12: Pets (Mascotas) Body Parts & Choice questions review Week 13: Activities (action verbs) and Likes & Dislikes Week 14: Days of the Week and My Weekly Schedule Week 15: Clothing & Verb to wear Week 16: The Weather & How is the weather today? Week 17: Season's of the Year Week 18: At School Items Week 19: My House Week 20: Prepositions More Weeks will be added... All students will read out loud instructions and vocabulary in the target language. This way, they will have the chance to practice and improve their enunciation and pronunciation skills in Spanish. After the session, I send a worksheet or a game so all students can review everything we have learned. I highly recommend to complete the worksheets and play the games so students can retain the information. Remember that learning a foreign language requires practice and a lot of repetition. π Are you looking for once a week Spanish class? TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces new vocabulary.

Hola NiΓ±os! My name is Jackie. I was born and raised in PerΓΊ. Now, I live in Virginia with my family. I hold a B.S. in HR Management and I'm a Certified Interpreter/Translator for the Winchester Public Schools and local hospital. In addition, I'm TEFL certified and I have been a Spanish Teacher since 2004. My first experience as a teacher was in a regular classroom setting but since 2016, I have become a Virtual Spanish Instructor. Online platforms allow me to reach out to students from all over the World. I enjoy preparing my students try their first words in a foreign language. At the beginning they can be very hesitant but little by little, I help them build their confidence and speak in full sentences. Teaching my language is a very rewarding experience! πTherefore, I have designed Online Spanish lessons for Beginners, Mid and Advanced students so my little and big learners can keep taking as many classes as they want. Your children can take One-Time lessons, Multi-Day classes, Ongoing Conversational sessions and / or participate in Book Readings, Spanish Camps or Semester Spanish Classes!

My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.
