Use it or Lose it! ☺

This class will focus on improving conversational fluency, reinforcing listening skills, reading comprehension and vocabulary building. This ongoing class is designed for Advanced Beginners / Intermediate Spanish Students that already know the basics.

My goal is to help students practice a lot of speaking and writing in Spanish while reading different fun mini-stories that we will re-tell and discuss together.

During our meetings, I introduce new vocabulary that students will find / hear with "The Story of the Week". Students will take turns to participate in class exercises like re-telling the story, fill in the blank, make the sentence true, add a detail, etc. In addition, students will have to use their creativity and make their own mini-story and share it with the class. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

Constant practice will build the student's confidence on reading, writing and speaking the target language. Remember that learning a foreign language requires daily practice and lots of repetition. 📖

As an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. In addition, I use a lot of visual aids (power-point presentation, e-books, interactive games) during the class. This helps my students follow the session and reinforces new vocabulary.
Learning Goals
* Build confidence in the target language.
* Learn new vocabulary.
* Improve Spanish comprehension.
* Enhance conversational skills.
* Have fun while learning a foreign language.

Hola Niños! My name is Jackie. I was born and raised in Perú. Now, I live in Virginia with my family. I hold a B.S. in HR Management and I'm a Certified Interpreter/Translator for the Winchester Public Schools and local hospital. In addition, I'm TEFL certified and I have been a Spanish Teacher since 2004. My first experience as a teacher was in a regular classroom setting but since 2016, I have become a Virtual Spanish Instructor. Online platforms allow me to reach out to students from all over the World. I enjoy preparing my students try their first words in a foreign language. At the beginning they can be very hesitant but little by little, I help them build their confidence and speak in full sentences. Teaching my language is a very rewarding experience! 😃Therefore, I have designed Online Spanish lessons for Beginners, Mid and Advanced students so my little and big learners can keep taking as many classes as they want. Your children can take One-Time lessons, Multi-Day classes, Ongoing Conversational sessions and / or participate in Book Readings, Spanish Camps or Semester Spanish Classes!

My teaching philosophy is learning while having FUN and presenting the material in small pieces. I keep my classes small (1-8 students max.) and we do a lot repetition. My goal is for students to internalize the vocabulary so they can use it in their daily routines.

In addition, as an experienced Spanish Teacher, I follow the TPRS Method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). TPRS lessons are a mixture of reading, storytelling, activities, games and repetition. This methodology motivates and prepares my students to trust themselves speaking, reading and understanding a foreign language. I use a lot of visual aids during the class so everyone can follow the sessions.
