Class Experience

I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes.
My teaching style is relaxed and casual, but still with a progress oriented focus.
I individualize my teaching based on the unique learner, and adapt, as needed, for the student to get the most out of the music lessons.
I love music and I love sharing my joy
of music and playing an instrument with my students. I try to choose songs and styles that they will enjoy playing, and also get
input from the student about what kinds of things they would enjoy learning.
They will learn to play some songs right away, to encourage their interest in continuing to learn to play their instrument.
We will focus on keeping a steady beat, and playing musically with good technique.
I write out all of my own song sheets, and no outside materials are needed.
Sometimes I will play the song for the student on youtube, so that they can hear the beat and how the song goes. We will sometimes play along with the song on YouTube.
This is a participation class, so the student will do a lot of playing on their instrument.
We will learn a variety of styles and experience different kinds of music.

Parental Guidance
Please message me and let me know which instrument your child will have for this class. It will be one instrument for the entire three weeks. I will occasionally use YouTube to share a song during class, for the student to play along with. Sometimes I will send a youtube song link to the classroom for the student to practice along with the song. For ukelele , I recommend the Uke Buddy online tuner. I will send the link to the parent. For guitar, I recommend GuitarTuna online tuner or free phone app. I will send the link to the parent. For piano, I ask that you label the keys. I will post instructions in the classroom for you, along with diagrams.
Supply List
The student will need to have their own instrument and any other accessories that they prefer to have, such
as guitar picks, ukelele picks, guitar foot stool etc.
