In this small class students are provided with writing prompts in a different genre each week. They learn the stages in the writing process, as well as grammar, punctuation and vocabulary. Instruction supports English language learners.

This is an ongoing class that covers one genre of writing each week. Students are given a writing prompt and a graphic organizer. To ensure that students understand the writing tasks, all graphic organizers include the prompt AND a little picture to represent the writing prompt. Students are also provided with draft paper with built-in-support. I have a master's degree from the School of Education at Northwestern University and a certificate to teach English (CTEFL) as a foreign language from Georgetown University. I was the head of the English department in an international primary school, and assessed and supported students' English language development.
