Class Experience

In this safe space for book lovers, learners will interact with one another and grow their social skills, chatting with others with similar interests as well as interacting with an attentive and knowledgeable teacher. Learners will participate in discussions about their favorite books, graphic novels, and/or comics. They will share jokes and interact in a friendly atmosphere where others can enjoy the experience. This is not a bookclub. There is no expected reading each week. Rather, learners will discuss recently read books and the themes they enjoy in literature each week. The class is a great way to exchange book recommendations and expand knowledge about a particular genre or trope.
As a teacher, I will patiently listen and participate in the discussion, asking questions of interest while encouraging interaction and conversation. As an book lover myself, I enjoy learning new things and seeing people get excited about what they love to read. Interaction and creativity is encouraged and ideas and thoughts are respected for all those who take part. This social club encourages all learners to be themselves and have fun! Games can be played based on learner interest (examples being pictonary or kahoot quizzes) and any other activities which learners wish to participate in.

If the learner wants, they are free to bring any books they have read or any other items of interest that they may want to show off to the group regarding books or graphic novels.
