Learners who take this as an ongoing class will develop as artists.
- They will learn fundamental art skills such as, basic drawing, rendering, and lighting.
- They will learn shading techniques using graphite pencils and pen & ink: Pointillism, hatching, crosshatching, contouring, pointillism, scribbling, pattern shading, circle shading, blending.

Homework Offered
Every week I will expect learners to demonstrate the shading technique I cover in class. I advise that learners keep a sketchbook so that all of their learning is in one place. Certain techniques will require more time than others, so homework will vary. Some weeks it may take two hours another weeks it may take half an hour.

Assessments Offered
I do not like to assign grades to art because it can be so personal. I will provide detailed feedback based on photos the learners send me. If learners do not send me photos of their art I will not be able to provide helpful feedback.
