Let's have fun while we practice our reading fluency together! Elephant and Piggie books are my favorite from helping readers become more confident and fluent! They will learn about different punctuation and how our sentences are spoken differently based off of the punctuation. They will practice reading sight words and short sentences to increase their reading ability. Learners will interpret how a character is feeling and give that character a special voice. Learners will practice reading words and sentences. Learners will grow their vocabulary. Learners will learn to read sight words automatically. Learners will learn phonic patterns in words. Learners will learn how different punctuation is used to express different meaning. Learners will develop voices for their character and act out how the character is feeling.
I have been teaching children to read for many years. These books are perfect for beginning readers to increase their reading fluency and confidence while having fun!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be using the "Elephant and Piggie" book series by Mo Willems.
