Welcome friends. Let's make magic on paper & have an Art-venture!! Join Mrs. Roxy in this festive & fun one-time class successfully drawing an awesome Gingerbread House, plus Pusheen playing in the snow! All skill levels are welcome, we focus on creativity. Class time requests are welcome too! Professional Artist and Pro Art Teacher will see ya soon pals! As a lifelong educator, I love helping kids build their growth mind set and critical thinking skills, and imagination muscle. And as a Professional Artist, I love to see my learners express themselves creatively. We will draw using simple shapes in a step-by-step process. No skill level is required, we will focus on creativity. Mrs. Roxy will start class with warm greetings. Mrs. Roxy will then guide students in a step-by-step drawing process, starting with basic shapes and working our way through our awesome art. Students will be encouraged to socialize and share their work although it is not required. Students will also be encouraged to make their unique artwork and to complete their art on their own if they are not finished in class. Please submit pictures of your kiddo's masterpieces to Mrs. Roxy's teacher's page because we love to support our young artists! "Creativity is intelligence having fun,” Albert Einstein. Supply List
Please bring paper or a sketchbook, a pencil with an eraser to class and anything to add color with such as colored pencils, markers or crayons. And an eager attitude and a big imagination! :D

😊Hi, welcome art friends! I am Mrs. Roxy ( Rosanna V. Phillips) I am an artist, private art instructor, and long-time Homeschool Teacher. I am a 5-star rated Outschool Educator who has taught over several thousand learners since joining Outschool in 2020. I am a Homeschool mom of three amazing kids ( plus a fur mom to many persnickety pets; including adorable pound puppies and three rescue fuzz ball cats!)
I love studying art at museums. Some of my favorite museums include; the Louvre, the world's largest art museum in Paris, France, and is best known for being the home of the Mona Lisa. A close tie for second place is the Ningxia Museum in China. And finally, near and dear to my heart is the famous Getty Museum, in Southern California where I currently reside with with my husband, three cute kids, and all our crazy fluffy fur babies that we rescued, so far.
As a full-time dedicated professional artist and art educator here on Outschool, I am passionate about offering my unique perspectives to guide young art friends to discover their creative journey. I am highly experienced in the areas of illustration, anime, hyperrealism, and design. I use this unique background to inspire my art friends to add highly creative twists that create awe-inspiring larger-than-life art pieces!
My areas of expertise that I love to focus on are Cultivating Creativity/Resourcefulness, Thinking like an Artist, and Divergent thinking, or “thinking outside the box”. According to recent studies, the creative process of making art sharpens problem-solving and critical thinking skills, the ability to focus, and much more. Studies also show people who make any type of art including sketching are less stressed, anxious, and depressed. Researchers liken creating art to exercise for the brain, similar to how physical exercise aids the body, creating art helps to keep the mind sharp! In other words, Art makes us happy, smart, and great problem solvers!
I am so excited to teach creative expression through various forms of art and to connect learners through exciting sociable art clubs.
