What's included

36 live meetings
30 in-class hours
Assignments
2-4 hours per week. Learners will receive daily assignments each week, requiring approximately 2-4 hours of work outside of class meetings. These assignments will cover multiple subjects, including Reading, Math, Science, and Spanish, and will be assigned on a daily basis. The teacher will provide feedback on assignments as needed to ensure students understand the material and continue to progress.
Projects
Learners will be assigned one cross-curricular project each 9-week term. This project will integrate various subjects and themes learned throughout the term. Learners will spend approximately one hour each week working on their project. The teacher will provide detailed feedback to support students' learning and development.
Certificate of Completion
A certificate of completion will be awarded at the successful completion of the class.

🌟 Welcome to our Full Curriculum Homeschool Kindergarten class! This comprehensive, year-long program provides a rich learning experience, covering Reading, Math, Science, and Spanish. Utilizing top-notch educational resources such as Waterford Early Learning, Kahoot, Blooket, Gimkit, Drops, DragonBox Learning Apps, and ClassDojo, we ensure an engaging and thorough education aligned with Common Core standards.

Class Experience

What will be taught?

📚 Students will learn foundational skills in Reading, Math, Science, and Spanish. Our curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded education that prepares learners for future academic success.

What topics will you cover?

Reading and ELA: Phonics, basic reading skills, and early literacy using Waterford Early Learning.

Math: Foundational math skills, number sense, and problem-solving with Waterford Early Learning and DragonBox Learning Apps.

Science: Introduction to scientific concepts and inquiry-based learning with Waterford Early Learning.

Spanish: Basic vocabulary and conversational skills through self-paced learning apps like Drops.

How is your class structured?

📅 The class is self-paced but meets once weekly for interactive sessions. Each week, students will receive assignments and projects to complete, with guidance and feedback from the teacher. Cross-curricular projects will integrate multiple subjects to enhance learning. The teacher is available through Outschool messaging throughout the week for additional support.

How will you teach?

I will use a mix of instructional methods, including:

Lectures and interactive lessons: Weekly live sessions with discussions, games, and multimedia presentations designed to reinforce learning from the week.

Hands-on activities and projects: Engaging assignments that encourage creativity and practical application of skills.

Interactive learning platforms: Tools like Kahoot, Blooket, Gimkit, and ClassDojo to reinforce learning through games and interactive exercises.

How much will learners get to interact with you?

💬 Learners will interact with me during the weekly live sessions, through Outschool messaging, and by submitting work samples for feedback. Additionally, interactive learning games and projects will provide opportunities for collaboration and interaction.

Purpose of the Course:

The purpose of this course is to provide learners with a complete Kindergarten curriculum and experience under the guidance of a qualified and certified teacher and administrator. Enrollment in this course is considered full-time enrollment. During the second semester of this course, the administrator will apply for regional accreditation if the minimum enrollment requirements are met.

The learning goals in this course ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience, helping students build a strong foundation in all essential Kindergarten subjects.

Other Details

Learning Needs
This self-paced class supports unique learning needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia, & ASD. We use visual aids, hands-on activities, clear instructions, & regular breaks. The class meets once weekly to provide additional support and guidance.
Parental Guidance
This class does not contain any content that may be upsetting or scary to learners. We will be using approved third-party tools and curricula such as Waterford Early Learning, Kahoot, Blooket, Gimkit, Drops, DragonBox Learning Apps, and ClassDojo. Waterford Early Learning and DragonBox Learning Apps: These platforms provide educational content and do not require separate accounts for students. Kahoot, Blooket, Gimkit: These tools will be used for interactive learning games. Accounts are not required for students to participate. Drops: This language learning app will be used for Spanish. An account may be required for full access, and instructions will be provided. ClassDojo: Used for positive behavior interventions and support. A separate account is not required. All tools will be used in a safe and secure manner, ensuring the privacy and safety of all learners.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should be able to sound out beginning words and have started reading. No previous classes are required, but familiarity with basic letters and sounds will be beneficial.
