Class Experience
Students will experiment weekly with different mediums, materials, processes, and art-making techniques. Idea building and creative exploration are encouraged and critical thinking is emphasized. Students will be taught the basic elements of art and principles of design. They will be introduced to well known artists and their work and will learn to view art and talk about the different elements using art-related vocabulary. Experienced art teacher of 15 plus years with students from Pre-K to High School. Having taught in both public and private schools, brick and mortar and online. Additionally taught art in community groups in public libraries and day care settings. As well as volunteering my time to a public school art program as an Arts Program Coordinator. I've been fortunate to have many wonderful years working with amazing, aspiring young artists!

Here is a general list of art supplies that will be used in the art class. Art supplies may be purchased as needed and is not required to purchase specific brands. Many items can be found at home. There is flexibility with the art supplies. I am happy to provide substitute options if needed. Feel free to communicate with the instructor if you have any questions or concerns. A list of the materials/supplies needed will be posted in the classroom in advance of the weekly meeting.
