Homework
I will provide 10-15 example problems for homework after each lesson through Google Forms. If a student is struggling, they can post their concerns on the classroom wall or message me privately for more clarification. This should not take more than 20 minutes per assignment.
Assessment
I will assess students based on their submitted lesson practice and homework (if they do their homework). Students will also have occasional quizzes.
Grading
I will provide a grade book for each student to track their scores and progress report at the end of the course.

Class Experience

US Grade 7
This class is self-paced, where students progress at their own pace. It does not include live classes, but it is very interactive. I will use visuals, mnemonics, real-world examples, discussion, games, and guided notes to ensure a deep understanding. I strive to make learning fun and instill confidence in each student. You will receive two recorded lessons each week, along with interactive lessons that use Nearpod, Classkick, or Desmos.

Students will receive an interactive lesson (Nearpod, Classkick, or Desmos) to complete alongside the recorded lesson. Feedback will be submitted no later than Friday, but usually within 24 hours. Students will also have access to their own private grade book that will be updated no later than Sunday night. I will assist students with specific questions within 24 hours, and students will have access to discounted private tutoring sessions every Friday for further assistance.

This course will cover the first semester of a 7th grade curriculum. Specifically, Specifically, these 16 classes include the Common Core State Standards 7.NS.1 - 7.NS.3 (The Number System), 7.EE.1 - 7.EE.4 (Expressions & Equations), and 7.RP.1 - 7.RP.3 (Ratios & Proportional Relationships). Students will calculate rational numbers and solve real-world problems. Students will apply properties of operations as strategies to write, solve, and graph expressions, equations, and inequalities. Students will represent and solve proportional relationships. Students will use equations and graphs of proportional relationships to solve multistep problems.

I do not drill. If students want extra practice, I can recommend books or websites and provide more exercises. The focus of this class is a deep understanding of the curriculum and the confidence it instills.

Parental Guidance
I use multiple platforms to make my lessons as interactive and engaging as possible. The interactive part of the lesson will usually be on Nearpod, but occasionally, Desmos or Classkick will also be used. Nearpod and Classkick do not require an account, while Desmos requires a free account. The optional homework and quizzes will be on Google Forms, which students will not need an account for. There will also occasionally be extra resources available to students through Khan Academy or IXL.
Pre-Requisites
Students need to have taken 6th grade math or have been tested on a 7th grade level.
Supply List
No textbooks or paid materials will be required. Everything will be provided. Interactive programs such as Nearpod and Desmos will be used, but these are free.
