Class experience

This class is taught in English.
I am an award-winning filmmaker who has won various awards for Directing, Writing, and Producing films including a Best Director award win in New York in 2018. I created, wrote, produced, and directed a 12 episode crime series, Forensic Psychologist, which had its world premiere in New York this Summer. I also co-wrote, directed, and produced a remake of the Sundance film Tape, directed an international thriller, The Audition, which was released on Amazon Prime and Sky last year, and produced a horror film, Murder Ballads, which is releasing later this year. I have filmed across the globe including the UK, US, Hong Kong, and Japan, and with over 15 years of hands-on experience have expertise in these various fields. My works have been covered by major trade publications including Variety, Deadline, Screen Daily, and The Hollywood Reporter. While I am from London I also headed the international arm of Hong Kong's oldest broadcaster Asia Television (ATV).
Homework Offered
Week 1: Activity that will help students understand what occurs in the different stages of the filmmaking process Week 2: Come up with a story idea for a film to talk about next week. Week 3: Write a short list of actors & actresses who you believe should play the characters, and explain why you would cast them Week 4: Think of possible challenges that delay your film getting made Week 5: Research 3 examples of famous movie shoots that went disastrously wrong. If you were in charge of the film set what would you have done differently? Week 6: Think about the editing of your favourite film. How did the edit help towards your enjoyment of the movie? And what sort of edit do you think our film will need? Week 7: Research distributors and festivals, and come up with a recommendation of who you think this film is for
