In this weekly class, we will be drawing different cartoons like dogs, cats, foxes (also open to student input of some of the things they want to draw) by learning to first see shapes and then use those shapes as a basis for our drawings.
Class experience
This is meant to be a fun and social class for my learners where we learn how to draw cartoons. We will usually be doing simple cartoons like dogs, cats, birds, foxes, etc. But, I will occasionally challenge a group with something a little more challenging if I feel they can handle it. We will practice drawing by finding the shapes in each drawing first to use as a basis for our drawings. I want my students to learn the very basics of drawing by creating a very light outline with shapes and then following up with a slightly darker drawing over the top. They will finish their drawing with the final darker lines and if there is time we will begin coloring and shading the picture using colored pencils.
Homework Offered
The only homework to be assigned will be to finish and color their pictures.Assessments Offered

Students will need drawing paper, a #2 pencil, and colored pencils.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
