Compete. Read. Spell. Score points. Memorize... And more! Study loads of new words and expressions a day! In this one time or ongoing class, we will study French vocabulary words categorized in different themes!.

Learn new words and expressions every class! In this French vocabulary and oral communication class we will cover spelling, definitions, and some slang words and common expressions. In teaching the French language for over 2 decades, I have found the best way to be successful with learning new words and comprehending them is repetition. In this class we will learn the meanings of words, drill on them, practice spelling, and compete in mini-games. Each class includes some reading out loud and equal talk time between students. Students will receive their class scores and optional homework after each class. I will facilitate class discussions around our new words and topics.

***PLEASE NOTE: This is a drop in class. Every class includes new words - it does not build on prior classes. Join us anytime!

Here is an example of the themes of words we would study in this class:

3.	les moyens de transport
4.	au zoo
5.	dans le jungle
6.	à l’école
7.	au restaurant

Why is having a good repertoire of French vocabulary important?
1. Understanding a vast vocabulary improves our ability to understand and comprehend what we are reading.
2. It helps in the ability to communicate clearly, express ourselves, write well and follow directions.
3. When communication may be tough or challenging for someone, having a strong informed word base makes it a lot easier.
4. Increases the ability to write effectively and successfully.
5. Communication skills in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding are a major part of being successful learning a second language.
