An easy way to begin learning a new language is to talk about something you know very well. Children like to talk about themselves. In this one time class, your child will learn to speak about themselves in French. After this class, they will be able to: -say their name -tell their age -talk about their physical appearance -indicate where they live (country and city ONLY) -talk about what they like I will model how to talk about oneself. We will practice the sentences together and then, with guidance, use the sentences individually. If time allows, students will also practice asking questions of one another. Students need no prior experience with French to be successful in this class.
Learning Goals
After this class, students will be able to speak simple sentences about themselves.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I will be teaching classes in science, basic French, and aviation. I have both science and education degrees. My main science interests are biology and environmental science. In my previous career, I worked in health care as a respiratory therapist so I have a lot of experience in all of the body systems. My teaching experience includes 10 years as a classroom teacher (grades 3-6). As I have obtained my pilot’s license, I am well versed in aviation and weather is a big part of that. I believe that classes should be fun and interactive. It is important for teachers and students to share their knowledge and experiences. My classes will be laid back but productive. My other hobbies include furniture making and baking bread. Let’s learn together!
