Beginner - Advanced Level
This club is ideal for those just starting with fractions, as well as for advanced students looking to brush up on foundational concepts. Throughout the weeks, we will explore key topics related to fractions, including dividing shapes into equal parts, understanding numerators and denominators, placing fractions on a number line, expressing whole numbers as fractions, and identifying equivalent fractions. The initial segment of the lesson will focus on teaching methods and modeling example problems, with the certified instructor engaging students by asking questions to gauge their understanding. Following this instructional phase, learners will have the opportunity to work independently on a worksheet, with a qualified teacher available for support as needed. To reinforce learning, there will be three brief quizzes to evaluate student knowledge. At the conclusion of the unit, a review session will be held, followed by an end-of-unit test, and participants will receive a certificate of completion. Teacher expertise and credentials
Non-US Teaching Certificate
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from University of Greenwich
I began tutoring mathematics on a one-to-one basis at the age of seventeen while pursuing my A-Levels. This experience ignited my passion for teaching. Subsequently, I joined a company where I taught small groups of fifteen and sixteen-year-olds in preparation for their exams. Even during my university studies in mathematics, I continued tutoring one-to-one. Upon completing my bachelor's degree, I pursued a postgraduate degree in primary education (ages 4-11) with a specialisation in mathematics.
I held a position in a school where I led the tutoring program. I conducted webinars and training sessions for this role, organising engaging activities in mathematics and writing for students.
Additionally, I worked as a class teacher for seven and eight-year-olds, teaching all subjects in the UK national curriculum for two years. I also served as a cover teacher and head of tutoring at another school, where I coordinated and planned small groups to provide maths assistance.
