As a classroom teacher, curriculum designer and math interventionist I have created weeklong courses with a focus on specific math concepts. This curriculum is intended to support students in learning valuable math skills as well as provide ongoing practice that continues after the course is completed.

This course contains 5 lessons that scaffolds the skills needed for ordering numbers and understanding Place Value. It is very important that students have a visual representation of what to understand the reasoning behind standard algorithms and procedures. This understanding is essential in having a deeper understanding of math concepts and to retain the information.

Printable math manipulatives are available if needed, and anchor charts are provided for reference along with additional practice activities. Storing the anchor charts in a binder is recommended for easy access, and using Ziplock bags can keep them organized and readily available.

Each lesson is divided into three parts:
Minilesson: where I demonstrate the skill of the day
Guided practice: where students practice the skill with my guidance
Independent practice: where students reinforce math skills and receive a video for self-correction, allowing them to identify their strengths and areas needing improvement.

I have created these classes to help your learner have a deeper understanding of numbers and to practice these skills on paper as well as digitally.

Let me know if you have any further questions and/or comments.

Welcome! My name is Debbie and I am a certified teacher with a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in the visual arts. I also hold Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on math and science. I have been lucky enough throughout my career to have taught grades K through 6 and be a math and reading interventionist. Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach and I love thinking of creative ways to get students to love it too and gain confidence.

I primarily teach math classes most popular class is my 1:1 math tutoring class, but I have expanded my classes recently to include art classes as well as thematic science classes for first, second, third and fourth grades.
