Foundations of Piano
In 8 one-on-one 30 min lessons, your child will walk away knowing the basics of how to read music and be able to play short melodies on the piano. This class is geared towards 4-7 yr old students just learning how to read.

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
Throughout this class, I will introduce your child to the exciting world of music. I use fun and engaging songs, rhymes, games, and activities to help your child get excited about their music journey and the possibilities that are opened up to them when they learn the magical skill of reading music. Each class will be 30 minutes, and students will be expected to practice for at least 10 minutes (preferably 15 minutes) every day between sessions. Because this is a one-on-one class, I will be able to tailor our time together to exactly what your student needs to be able to understand these concepts on a level that will stick with them well after our time together. Example Topics: Quarter/Half/Full notes, Treble vs. Base Clef, Dynamics, Counting by Measure, Basic Note Reading
Learning Goals
We will learn the basic's of reading simple music and explore learning how to play that music on a piano or keyboard.
Other Details
Pre-Requisites
Learners should have a basic knowledge and recognition of the alphabet and letter sounds. Learners also need to have access to a piano or keyboard during the duration of the class.
Supply List
Students will need access to the Faber Piano Adventures primer level books. The "Lesson" and "Theory" books are required, but the "Performance" and "Technique & Artistry" books are recommended as well. I will supply all other curriculum and materials needed.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
