Are you preparing to start Spanish but you're unsure how to begin or if Spanish is right for you? This class is an introduction to Spanish for first time learners, taught in a slow yet measured pace. Learn the core principles that will help you in creating a solid understanding for Spanish moving forward. Learn the foundations and core principles that make Spanish unique, including: introductory phonetics, masculine and feminine grammatical gender, and singular versus plural rules. By extension, explore vocabulary that covers: school supplies, greetings, time and feelings. This class is made for the absolute beginner.
Aside from teaching English to Mandarin-speaking students in China, I am a native speaker in Spanish. I live in a Spanish speaking household. I've taught language classes using different schools of thought as well as worked as a translator in previous jobs I’ve had, providing services like customer service and more. This introductory course will focus on instruction based in English with immersion in Spanish.
Homework Offered
Students will have 2-3 pages of homework outside of class; this will be assigned from the workbook provided in class. Aside from written practice, students are expected to practice what they have learned outside of class. This will ensure student development, growth and understanding.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
A final exam will be provided for students to complete and submit back for a final assessment. Periodically, we will use kahoot in class as a way to measure class involvement and participation, too!Grades Offered
A workbook specifically made and prepared for this class will be uploaded to the classroom. Students are encouraged to participate and have it ready to make the most of their experience during and after class.
