Students will practice spelling and reading sight words using a Fortnite inspired bingo card. The class will use 2nd & 3rd grade sight words that go along with what can be found within the Fortnite game. Students are encouraged to share their favorite Fortnite toy, experience, etc. before the start of our bingo activity in order to get to know another and create fun conversations. Students will be sent two, specially designed bingo cards, that will need to printed before the start of class. Class expectations: 1. Every student is sent two special Fortnite bingo cards once enrolled (please be sure to print out before the start of class) 2. The teacher will use a Google Slide presentation (Fortnite inspired) to display each word. 3. During the presentation, the teacher will say the word, spell the word, and use the word in a sentence to help students understand each word as they are presented. Students are encouraged to use any word they feel comfortable with in a created sentence of their own. Students can always pass if they are uncomfortable sharing! 4. If the student has any given word called out by the teacher, they can mark their card using any method of placement that covers the said word. 5. When a student wins, everyone celebrates as a whole! 6. We will play multiple rounds of bingo as time permits.
