1 live meeting
30 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This class is designed to create an opportunity for students to discuss all things related to the NFL in a fun, engaging and safe environment. Whether your learner is just being introduced to the game or they have been a fan their entire lives, this class will give them a chance to share their opinions and grow in their knowledge of the game. While I will have a general outline of the topics we will cover each week, this course is designed to be learner directed. If students would like to talk about certain players or teams, our conversations will be centered around those interests. A lot of what we will discuss will be dependent on major events happening around the league, so topics will vary week to week. Some of the topics we will discuss each week: -The results of the previous week -Match-ups for the upcoming week -Top players and plays from the week -Off-season decisions for teams -NFL draft prospects and results -Much more! This is an excellent place for learners to share their passion for the great game of football and make some new friends.
Learning Goals
Students will have the chance to speak in front of other learners and learn the skill of being an active listener. Students will learn to have a debate while being respectful of the opinions of everyone involved.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I began my teaching career as a preschool teacher back in 2008, and upon getting my early to middle adolescent license in 2012, I have been teaching for the Appleton Area School District ever since. After teaching fourth grade for one year, I have taught 7th and 8th grade math and science for the past six years. In addition to teaching, I also coach several sports. I am a high school tennis coach and I coach both boys and girls 8th grade basketball as well.
I am very passionate when it comes to teaching, especially when it comes to math and science. I work hard to recognize the needs of my students, and I am able to adapt my lessons to help reach all my students. I believe that there is no such thing as a "math (or science) person" and that everyone has the ability to achieve a high level of understanding in these subjects.
As you can possibly guess from the fact that I am a tennis coach, I am an avid tennis player. With a 4-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter, I don't get on the court as much as I once did, but I'm still able to get out 2-3 times each week. A few years ago, I was on a summer team that ended up winning our state tournament and eventually advancing to Arizona for the national tournament. I love sharing my passion for the sport of tennis as much as I love sharing my love for science and math.
