Hello families! Does your child want to learn to follow directions in a fun and exciting way? Following directions is an important skill for children to learn and will aid them from now through adulthood. In this ongoing class I will give your students simple instructions throughout our class. These instructions will begin with one step directions and by the end of the class have multiple steps. 
Each class I will pick an idea to give instructions for. This may include drawing a picture with step by step instructions, it may include going throughout the house to find things with my directions. Each class will be independent of the previous or future class so do not worry about attending every class. I would love to have your child for every class, they can join at any time. 
Each week my goal will be to give instructions to your student to see how they follow directions. These directions are meant to be fun and funny! After a few rounds of doing one thing or finding one thing, your student will then have to move to listening and following 2 directions and so on. At the end of the directions your learner will share what they did or they found with the other learners. 
I will post a message at least 24 hours prior to each class for the parents with a general idea of what we will be doing for the class (i.e. drawing a picture, finding objects, body movements, etc). If there is something specific you want your child to do please don't hesitate to send me a message with suggestions and I will do my best to include this into class. 
I believe children learn the best when they have fun and can laugh. If your learner likes learning through play and fun then this class is for you. 
Each week at the beginning of class we will talk briefly about following directions for a refresher. Here is a breakdown of the first few weeks of class. Details about future classes will be posted in the classroom:
Week 1: (May 21) Draw a picture with step by step instructions.
Week 2: (May 28) I will give instructions of what to find in the house (something green, something blue and small, etc)
Week 3: (June 4) Touch your...examples include: nose with your finger, touch your elbow to your knee, touch your hand to your ear and your foot to your leg...
Week 4: (June 11) Follow directions on paper

Remember, this is an ongoing class so although I would love to see your students every week, they are welcome to join at any time and stay for as many classes as they like. I will have a new or different class each week so your child will always be welcome to come at any time.
