Focus on Fractions with Nicole the Math Lady! Grade 4 - Part 2

Students will spend 7 weeks focusing on fractions with Nicole's prerecorded Saxon Math video lessons. Concepts are based on 4th Grade Standards and include naming fractions, mixed fractions, adding fractions, improper fractions and more.

Assignments
1 hour per week. Students can practice each new concept by printing the one-page assignment. The answer key is included (as a separate page) for those who want to find and fix their mistakes.
Assessment
A final assessment that includes problems from each lesson can be submitted after completion and individual feedback will be returned to the student.
Certificate of Completion
Along with feedback from the final assessment, we will provide a certificate of completion for the course.

Beginner Level
Focus on Fractions with Nicole the Math Lady (Grade 4 - Part 2) will review and expand on several concepts related to fractions including:

-adding fractions
-subtracting fractions
-multiplying fractions
-converting improper fractions to mixed numbers 
-reducing fractions
-comparing fractions
-word problems with fractions
-and more!

Each class will include a short prerecorded video followed by an optional printable, self-graded practice assignment. 

Parents appreciate Nicole's videos for their combination of clarity and conciseness. Students enjoy Nicole's friendly, supportive style. 

Videos range from 3-8 minutes long. 

During the final week, there is an optional cumulative assessment that can be submitted for feedback. 

Please note: While these videos were recorded to teach the Saxon Math lessons, this Outschool course has been designed for students using any/all math curriculum. No Saxon materials are required and there is no reference to Saxon Math in the videos.

 This seven-minute video shows how to simplify fractions with different denominators and also includes how to multiply fractions with different denominators.

Pre-Requisites
While not required, students may find it beneficial to begin with Focus on Fractions - Fourth Grade - Part 1.
Supply List
If your student plans to complete the optional assignments, 1-2 pages will need to be printed in advance of each lesson. And a pencil would be handy too. ;)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
