This class is a continuation of the Flute 101 series. Students should be comfortable with the material covered in parts I, II, III and IV. Please get a copy of the book and see what has been covered previously if you have not taken the previous classes. Students will learn new notes and scales: D major scale, E-flat major scale, high notes E-flat, E and F. Students will learn dotted eighth and sixteenth notes and triplets. They will review previously learned rhythms and scales. My teaching style is to cover one lesson per week and add as much extra material to the basic material covered as possible. Students will play for me or play with me or play together as a group (muted so that they can play all together).
Learning Goals
Students will review previously learned rhythms and notes and learn exercises and songs in D major and E-flat major. They will learn dotted eighth note and sixteenth note patterns and play in triplets. Students will apply phrasing ideas (see back of the book) such as forward flow and up and down.
