In this ongoing class we will meet 2 times a week to practice reading out loud in front of others. The learners will pick a book or part of a book to bring to class and read aloud to the other learners and me, the teacher. I will give feedback to all students on how they can improve and what they are doing well on. Reading fluency is highly correlated to reading success. The better the learners are with fluency the better they will be with their overall reading. Each student will have a turn to read out loud during every class. When listening to the other learners read they will get ideas of what books they may be interested in reading next. Don't let the summer reading slump get your learner behind. This class will help keep them motivated to keep their reading skills sharp all summer long. I will also be doing a Read aloud each day to model and teach the fluency objective.

Week 1-  read like you talk 
Week 2- volume
Week 3- expression
Week 4- accuracy
Week 5- smoothness
Week 6- phrasing
Week 7- pace
