Vocabulary Acquisition: -Expand vocabulary related to common themes such as numbers, days of the week, months, seasons, school supplies, animals, family members, and more. -Acquire essential vocabulary for describing daily routines, emotions, clothing, time, and money. Grammar and Language Structure: -Understand fundamental grammar concepts such as noun gender, definite and indefinite articles, verb conjugation in the present tense (regular and irregular verbs), adverbs, prepositions of place, and basic sentence structure. -Apply grammar rules effectively in spoken and written communication, demonstrating an understanding of proper sentence construction. Cultural Awareness: -Gain insights into Hispanic culture and traditions through the exploration of cultural components integrated into each lesson. Develop an appreciation for the diversity of Spanish-speaking communities around the world. Language Proficiency: -Develop all four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a focus on balanced skill development. -Demonstrate the ability to understand and produce simple written texts, follow instructions, and engage in basic conversations in Spanish. Homework Offered
Homework Description: Homework assignments will be assigned weekly to reinforce the learning objectives covered in each session. The primary homework resource provided is a 78-page PDF interactive Spanish workbook, which students are encouraged to utilize both during our live sessions and independently. Checking for Correctness: While completion of homework is strongly encouraged, students will have the opportunity to review and discuss their homework during the following session. I will provide feedback, clarify any misconceptions, and address questions raised by students regarding the assigned tasks. Assignment Requirements: While homework assignments are encouraged for all students to enhance their learning experience, they are not mandatory. However, students are strongly encouraged to complete the workbook exercises to consolidate their understanding of the material covered in class.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Formative Assessments: These are ongoing and informal assessments integrated into each lesson through fun games, activities, and teacher observations. They provide immediate feedback on student understanding and progress. Frequency and Format: Formative assessments occur during each class session, ensuring continuous monitoring of student learning. These assessments are primarily conducted in class through interactive activities and teacher-led observations. Assessment Methods: 1. Oral Production Rubric: A rubric is used to assess students' oral production skills, focusing on pronunciation, fluency, vocabulary usage, and grammatical accuracy during speaking activities and conversations. 2. Teacher Observations: The teacher closely observes student interactions, responses, and participation during class activities and discussions to assess comprehension, engagement, and language production skills.Grades Offered
A certificate of completion will be awarded to students upon successfully finishing the course. Additionally, students will receive a written report outlining their progress, areas of strength, and areas for improvement. The focus is on recognizing students' efforts and achievements.

No login or email is required from the students. They will be provided with a class code to join and complete assignments. Padlet: Padlet is a virtual bulletin board where students can collaborate, and showcase their work. Students will receive instructions on how to access and contribute to Padlet activities using a class code. Nearpod: Nearpod is an interactive presentation platform. Nearpod may be utilized for interactive lessons and real-time assessments. Students will be guided on how to access Nearpod activities using a class code provided during our sessions. It is important to note that these third-party tools are carefully selected to ensure they adhere to strict privacy and security guidelines. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, and all activities involving these tools will be closely monitored by our instructor. No parental guidance is required for students to use these tools, as they will be provided with clear instructions and support during our sessions.
