During this session, parents can expect to learn a strategy that can be used to increase reading fluency at home in just 10-15 minutes for 3-5 days a week. The strategy was developed by Jane M. Flynn, Ph.D., Research Scientist at the La Crosse Area Dyslexia Research Institute, Inc. After the session, parents will be given a document with everything shared during the session. Parents will also have access to Mrs. Libby Swanson using Outschool messaging to answer any questions that may occur after the training. What will I learn? 1. Supply List
Materials needed for initial training: (1) A regular laptop, Google Chromebook, iPad, or desktop computer is needed. (2) A webcam (internal or external) is essential for this course. When the first lesson is implemented, the following materials will be need: 1. Instructional level reading material 2. Hot and cold reading chart (supplied by teacher) 3. Red and blue marker/crayon 4. Timer 5. Calculator
