This Crayola Marker Calligraphy course was designed to give my calligraphy students another tool to help them create beautiful calligraphy with swirling flourishes! Flourishes are the decorative or curved lines added around letters. In this class we use regular classroom markers and build upon the skills learned in my beginner course, 'Learn Calligraphy with a Crayola Marker'. Once students learn the basic letter forms which are taught in the beginner class they can begin to build fanciful flourishes onto letters and words. In this class students will learn: -How to create flourishes -Where to put flourishes -How to create balanced and artful calligraphy with flourishes This is a hands-on interactive course where together we practice our flourishing! We will be doing practice drills to warm up our hand and fingers. Students will be able watch as I demonstrate our practice drills and will be given time to practice each skill themselves during our class time. These fun practices will lead us into our end goal of creating swirling flourishes to accompany their calligraphy! There are also worksheets included with this course designed to help students continue to develop their skills further outside of our class time.
Learning Goals
Practice makes progress! Students will learn not only how to create fanciful flourishes using Crayola Marker Calligraphy but they will learn that it's ok to make mistakes but keep practicing in order to improve. Not everything we create as artists looks great on the first try! Students will learn how to become amazing calligraphers by learning that practice truly makes progress! The goal for students taking this course is to enhance their calligraphy skills. Student will learn the basic principles for creating balanced and artful flourishes. By giving them another tool they will be able to take their calligraphy to the next level! I look forward to flourishing with you all!

The only materials required for this course are - A regular classroom marker - A pencil - Paper: any kind will do, copy paper, lined paper, or construction paper would work great!
