In this four week Flexible course, learners will learn to use 3D modeling software to make a custom entity in Minecraft and then code it into the game using a Mod development program called Mcreator.

Class experience

This class is taught in English.
-Learn how to use BlockBench to develop custom 3D models and textures
-Learn how to use MCreator to import Java entities and put them into the game
-Learn about game design by learning more about how the Minecraft engine works
-Complete their own Mod that they can show to their friends and families
Homework Offered
Students will be asked to complete a weekly task list. Each week's content could take 1-3 hours depending on your learner's comfort level with technology. Each assignment will be completed as an individual and help from parents is welcome. Each week there are videos to follow along with and the weekly video content ranges from 1 to 1.5 hours.

There progress is assessed by the completion of the project by the end of the course.

Each student will need to have purchased a Minecraft (Java Edition) account. No other versions will work. The student must be using a computer, keyboard, mouse, headphones. Mcreator, BlockBench, and Minecraft Forge are used to build and test the mod in class. All three of these programs are free and I will demonstrate how to download them in class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
"Mods" are addons with custom content for Minecraft. This involves coding, art, and design of new game features that are created by the learner or developer.

Purchase and account is required for using this tool. The learner must own a copy of Minecraft Java Edition to be able to test their project in class.
