Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn over 30 different words and phrases to discuss hobbies, months, desserts and some numbers in Spanish, along with several key verbs. They'll also learn how to correctly form ER and IR verbs in the present tense to match different subjects.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in the Principles and Methods of Language Education.
I have spoken Spanish for nearly two decades.
I have been a language teacher since 2014.
I lived in Mexico for 6 years.
I hold a TEFL certificate
Homework is optional and may be (or may not be) assigned for each class. I will include a post in the virtual classroom each week detailing the homework instructions. Homework may include:

-asking your child to submit a video of themselves pronouncing the new vocabulary from the lesson
-custom-designed worksheets or word search activities
They will need to access Nearpod via the app, or via the website directly. I recommend a pencil and a notebook to write down new vocabulary words.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Assessment is informal for this class. I do not give letter grades, but I do write feedback for each student as needed. For FLEX classes, I also include video feedback for students that actively participate in the course.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Please note that this class will focus on the use of Mexican Spanish, since that is the Spanish that I specialize in. This does not mean that it is the only correct way to speak Spanish. Spanish is spoken in many countries, and there are many different correct ways to speak this diverse language.

For NEARPOD, you will receive a link to the NEARPOD website in a post in the virtual classroom each Sunday. You can click this link directly to access class materials. You could also use the NEARPOD app and use the 5-digit class code, which will be provided in the classroom post as well.

For YOUTUBE, you will receive a link in a post in the virtual classroom each Sunday. Please note that the YouTube videos you will receive are private and exclusive to my Outschool students. They are uploaded to YouTube only for your convenience, and are not available to the general public.
