Flex: Polymer Clay: Minions + Fun Facts + Fan Club Sculpting

For 6 (FLEX) weeks, students will be guided through multiple clay tutorials of The Minion Characters! You learn more trivia, and fun character facts, and socialize with other fans!

What's included

Class Experience

In this class we will be recreating our own cute version of these characters using Clay!

There are NO live meetings for this class! A Weekly Clay Tutorial Video will be posted in the classroom, every Monday at 12:00am (Pacific Time). You may view the video at your convenience. Each week for 6 weeks students will be guided through multiple clay tutorials of Characters! In this class you will also learn more trivia, and fun character facts! You will socialize with other fans. In this class I strive to keep students fully engaged and inspired by the material! 

Art in general is like a sport. You have to frequently train that muscle to get even better! This 6 week course will for sure improve each learner’s polymer clay skills and confidence. Through these videos student will learn how to start and complete 8 clay masterpieces!

Breakdown Description of Class activities:

MANDATORY: “Would you Rather Discussion Poll” Class Activity
- In this Poll, you will discuss your choice in the would you rather poll and your reasoning. 

MANDATORY: “Weekly Collaborative Class PowerPoint” Class Activity
- This activity will be due every Saturday and Sunday.
- On Saturdays, you must have your weekly creation posted.
- On Sunday’s you must have your positive sticky note posted under at least 1 person’s creation.*
** NO negative notes allowed. 

MANDATORY: “ISpy” Class Activity
- I will create a fun iSpy game using the creations, WE made. As a class we will find the hidden characters!
 
HIGHLY ENCOURAGED: “Character Trivia Quiz” Class Activity
- You will receive a grade at the end of completing this quiz!

Teacher’s Feedback
Every week, after students post their creation to the class PowerPoint, I will send out feedback. This feed back should help students improve their future creations.
NOTE: It is mandatory that you participate in the digital sticky board assignment so that I am able to give you feedback!

Grading Policy
There is NO official grade that will be given at the end of the course. The main goal of the course is to focus on your personal growth journey of art! This is why I send out a Weekly feedback so students can focus on areas they may need to improve, and are aware of their strong suits.
- The optional Fun Fact Quizzes will give you a grade after completion!
- Students will also receive a certificate of class completion!

- (OPTIONAL): You could include the scarf color for your house on your Hedwig Owl.

WEEK 4: Agnes

WEEK 5: Fluffy Unicorn

WEEK 6: Edith

Hello!👋🏻💖🎨 I'm Mrs. Morgan, specializing in polymer clay and (digital + physical) drawing classes.

🎓✨ Recently graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in December 2022! ✨🎓

I am currently a certified 120 hour TESOL teacher, I’ve taught over 2,200 classes to more than 800 students, in both online and in-person settings spanning nearly 4 years. 

ABOUT ME:
❤️ I married my husband in 2022, we just had a baby boy in November 2023, and I have a 6 year old bonus daughter!
❤️  Originally from Houston, Texas, now residing in Indiana, USA.
❤️ Art is not just my work but my passion!

MY ART JOURNEY:
🎨 Over a decade of sculpting with polymer clay!
🎨 Completed two art portfolios in one year, totaling 48 pieces – a notable achievement in Texas.
🎨 Participated and triumphed in various local and state art competitions, including hosting an art show with an auction.
🎨 I own a small art business where I am selling in a few physical stores, + an online shop!

🏆 My Art Portfolios have scored the highest rating, 2 times in the state of Texas!
🏆 Received a superior rating (at state level) for a sewing piece submission.
🏆 Sewing piece won top 20 artworks for the state!

     My classroom philosophy is to always practice Equity! Everyone has their own story to tell, and I would love to hear yours! I hope to make a difference in at least one of my student's lives!❤️

——> My Classroom rules! <——
- Classes should last the amount of time stated. However, depending on the amount of students, in a rare situation class may last slightly longer or shorter.
- I will wait 10 minutes in a class for a student to show up, if the student is still not there after 10 minutes, I will leave the classroom.
- Sibling students may log into class on the same device! (I just ask that you please enroll both siblings as a student in the classroom)
