Class Experience
Do you need extra practice in math? Does it help you to draw the problems in order to solve? Do word problems frustrate you? Come join this class and boost that confidence! We will learn all different techniques to help you, so you can pick the option that best fits your needs! Listed below are the topics for each week: Week 1: Multiplication one digit by one digit *Modeling of problems will be shown Week 2: Multiplication two digits by two digit *Modeling and organization of problems will be shown Week 3: Division of two digit by one digit *Modeling and organization of problems will be shown Week 4: Word Problems *CUBE strategy will be shown to help identify and solve word problems Each week students will engage and watch 2 videos: *pre-recorded lesson on topic (10 minutes) *explanation of activities (10 minutes) *after 1st week, each week will have a video of answers to activities from previous week! Each week students will also engage in 2 Flipgrids! *Ice breaker questions to get to know the other learners and teacher *Topic discussion question

Hello! My name is Lauren and I have been teaching for 10 years! I played Division One softball and loved being a collegiate student athlete. I also played basketball up until college. I am a proud mother and a dedicated special education teacher with a passion for fitness, coaching, and reading!
I have my self contained elementary education degree (Kindergarten through 9th grade) with endorsements in ELA, Social Studies, and Special Education. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education (Pre-K through age 21).
I have 9 years experience as a 5th grade special education teacher and 2 years experience as an 8th grade general education ELA teacher. I have tutored reading, math, and writing for a variety of students. I believe in making learning fun and offering a variety of strategies to help students find the tools that fit them best. I believe in creating a safe environment for my students, and love learning about them as individuals!
