What's included

Homework
1 hour per week. Students will attempt a second passage on their own that can self grade when I upload the answer key on Thursday of each week.

Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Intermediate Level
This is a FLEX class version of a weekly 30 minute class.

One of the best ways to learn grammar is to look at the grammar of great writing.

Each week students will download a copy of that week's passage.
On Mondays I will post a video that goes through the passage.

-We will learn about the 8 parts of speech and how to find them in a passage.
-We will learn about sentence structure and the parts of a sentence.
-discuss any unfamiliar vocabulary.
-look at tricky spellings.
-discuss other mechanics of writing: contractions, capitalization, homonyms, homophones, antonyms, similes sentence types, dialogue, punctuation and more!

Students will follow along on their papers annotating the parts of speech.
Students will attempt a second passage due Thursday.
On Thursday I will post a completed passage for students to self grade.
Questions are encouraged!

Throughout the week I will engage students through interactive questions. We will discuss the book the passage is from, talk about our favorite books, current books, books we hated. I will also share interesting aspects of the homework passage and of course answer any questions.

Week 1 The Railway Children
Week 2 The Five Children and It
Week 3 Homer Price
Week 4 Peter Pan
