Homework
1-2 hours per week. Each week students will be asked to view the material and participate in the photoshoot activities. Coursework should take approximately an hour. Homework is taking photographs and submitting them to the classroom for instructor feedback.Assessment
The student will receive feedback from the instructor by way of the student submitting their photographs on the class platform.Class Experience
📷Discover how to use your camera components so that you feel comfortable taking pictures with your digital camera. Learn how to implement principles of composition to capture amazing photographs, and engage in photography activities. The instructor will provide both guided video instruction and PDF guides to assist you in learning photography techniques. ❗Please note that since this is a FLEX course we will not have scheduled live meetings, instead, each learner will be able to work on their photography skills at their convenience. 🤳Engaging activities will teach you how to compose a photograph using your digital camera. Tips and techniques will help you in every module to grow in your photography journey. 📸In this flex course, students will learn the "Art of Photography" in a 6-week photography journey, filled with instructional videos, PDF guides, and directions for photoshoots. The instructor will provide feedback as students progress through the course. The weekly modules will direct learners to add their photographs from the weekly activity prompts to the classroom. The instructor will give feedback on the photographs weekly. 📸Week 1: Get to Know YOUR Camera Video presentation and activity to encourage students to become comfortable with their own personal camera. 🤳Week 2 & 3: Composition in Photography In this module, learners put what they have learned into action. The learners will gain an understanding of the compositional techniques to create amazing photographs. An instructional video will introduce creative topics and compositional guidelines to direct learners in the intentional practice of taking photographs. The activity includes 10 topic photoshoots. Each topic is covered in the video directions. 📷Week 4: Understanding Aperture Priority Mode Learners will investigate the function of the aperture to photograph both narrow and shallow depths of field. 📸Week 5 & 6: Understanding Shutter Priority Mode Learners will investigate the function of the shutter to photograph freeze motion in a photograph. There are two activities in the shutter speed unit. 🎥Learners will receive video instruction and a tips and techniques guide to access and/or print within each module. Learners can share their favorite photographs from each activity within the classroom. The instructor will give feedback on the photographs submitted. By the end of the course the learner should have achieved 3 main skills: 1. Know the camera functions to be comfortable with using their own digital camera 2. Use proper settings for Aperture, Shutter, and ISO using the manual modes 3. How to compose a beautiful photograph using compositional techniques The course is designed to guide students through both video tutorials and fun activities to further the development of skills and artistic style in photography! As an art educator, I seek to motivate students to make a connection with the project so they will find success. 🥇Do you know about the Summer Smash Challenge?
